The theme of the Make N Take cultural arts event is cultural bridge building. As an organization, A-KEEP’s primary mission is to provide multicultural diversity education programs to the students and professionals of both Alabama and Korea.

Art is universal and relevant regardless of cultural background. It is also a wonderful way to express one’s culture pride and history. It is our hope that through this event we can use art to bridge cultural differences as well as educate members of the community about the cultures represented at this event. Attendees can also express their own culture through the different artistic mediums available at this event.

This event is created in partnership with A-KEEP’s Bridge of Unity in Diversity (BUD) Club. This youth leadership group focuses on educating the community about developmental disabilities. Not only is this event an opportunity to educate attendees about multicultural art, but it is also an opportunity for the BUD Club to educate the community about developmental disabilities.

We want families of and attendees with disabilities to participate in this event and be a part of educating those in attendance about disabilities through visibility. By being there, participating, learning, and being able to take the art they make home we hope all who are in attendance will leave with the ability to educate others about a culture and disabilities.

The Make n Take Arts Event is open only to children and their families, and is free.of charge.
