Why Choose the A-KEEP HELPLINE?

IMG_2844 EDITED (1).JPG

A number of people in the River Region from linguistic minority groups are not able to receive necessary services due to barriers to communication. This means individuals with limited English proficiency may not have access to medical instruction, legal assistance or other critical-needs services. While getting access to services may be challenging to these individuals, those with limited English proficiency and developmental or physical disabilities are at an even greater disadvantage. The A-KEEP HELPLINE works to provide language access to critical-need services for people from ethnic and cultural minority groups living with disabilities.

By providing translation and interpretation services, A-KEEP is building an environment that is linguistically and culturally inclusive of Alabama’s ethnically diverse communities. A-KEEP’s HELPLINE is not only beneficial for individuals, but also for medical personnel, legal professionals, school administration, businesses and for-profit organizations seeking to build relationships with the River Region’s growing Korean-speaking community.
