Summer 2022

This Summer A-KEEP welcomes new members to the office to assist with our upcoming summer camp program, “Catch the K-Wave”. Catch the K-Wave will be hosted July 5th - 22nd at Pike Road Intermediate Schools. A-KEEP’s newest interns look forward to helping our Catch The K-Wave students prosper in their Korean language journey.

 

Meet The StarTalk Interns

Shai Turner

Hello. My name is Shai Turner. I am currently a graduate at Auburn University in the M.S. TESOL program. I graduated with my B.A. in English Public & Professional Writing with a minor in Korean Studies from Auburn in 2020. I am the current Co-President of the Korean Language and Culture Club at Auburn and the President of Auburn University Korea X Dance Club which is the first Korean dance club at Auburn. I am also a part of the International Buddy Program on campus. I've been studying Korean language and culture for 7 years. I also studied abroad at Keimyung University in Daegu, South Korea during the Summer semester in 2019.

 

Logann Shorter

Hello! My name is Logann Shorter and I am a student at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM). I plan on graduating in Spring 2023 with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary studies and a minor in Psychology. I am an Orientation Leader, School Ambassador, Honors Student, Homecoming Representative, and Deichelmann Scholar at AUM. For the previous academic school year, I was the Committee Chair for the University Honors Program Food Pantry. During the 2020-2021 academic school year, I served as the President of the Warhawk Korean Culture Club (WKCC) at AUM. Lastly, I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

 

Uiseon Sunny Kim

Hello, my name is Uiseon Sunny Kim. I am a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). I am a Junior and my majors are Biochemistry and Psychology.

In my spare time, I usually watch Netflix and movies. I like to play guitar and Piano.

 

Jayla Bradford

Hello, my name is Jay-Darylle Bradford! I am currently a Junior at Auburn University, majoring in international studies with a linguistics minor. On campus I am a student worker for the King Sejong institute-Korea Center (KSI-KC) and I am also a member of Auburn's K-pop centered dance team called AUKXD. I have the intention to graduate in Spring of 2024 and pursue a career in interpretation and translation. My primary interests include linguistics, of course, as well as yoga and dance. I hope to get to know as many of you [A-KEEP Staff] as possible.
